The Georgia Chapter APDA's annual fundraisers and events allow us to contribute to on-going medical research, provide services for Georgia residents with Parkinson's and spread public awareness about the disease. Volunteering, sponsoring and participating in these events gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people with Parkinson's, their families and their caregivers. We have an exciting line up of events to offer patients and supporters this year. Please read below for events and check our Support Groups & Programs page for other programs.

NEW RESEARCH STUDY
Do you have diagnosed Parkinson’s disease?
A research study at the Atlanta VA Rehab R&D Center is looking at effects of Tango and Health Education on mobility, cognition and brain activity in people with Parkinson’s disease. This research study requires three, 3-4 hour visits that include mobility and cognitive testing and functional magnetic resonance imaging, requiring lying in a MRI scanner for 1 hour. You will also be asked to participate in either 20 tango dance OR 20 health education lessons, which will meet for 1 ½ hours, 2 times per week for 12 weeks. For information, please call Dr. Madeleine E. Hackney @ 404-321-6111 ext. 5006 or email email@example.com.
